This thread is being opened separate from the convention to avoid cluttering up that thread.

Both Flo and Dkrol have nominated themselves for the party's nomination for North Governor. A 48 hour campaigning period will start now, and the vote will then be open for 48 hours afterwards. Voters must be registered from the North, and Labor Members at the moment this is posted.

Let me start off by thanking Chairman Blair for acting swiftly and getting this contest underway, so that we can present a clear, unified party going forward in the race for Northern Governor. I'd also like to thank Flo for running a clean race, issues-based race.

I'm not going to speak much about myself, as I expect many of you know who I am. I began my career with a bid for At-Large Senate, which I lost. I did not let that loss get me down, however. I went on to serve two terms in the Northeast Assembly, including two terms as Speaker of the Assembly, before I ran for President. Although I lost that race as well, President Bore chose me to serve as Game Moderator during one of the most turbulent times in our nation's history - TNF's Communist Revolution. When my time as GM came to came to an end I came back to the Northeast and returned to the Assembly, as Speaker, until Blair, who was the Governor at the time, appointed me to a vacant Senate seat. I am currently an inaugural member of the House of Representatives.

For my entire career, I've been fighting for the people that I've represented. As a member of the Northeast Assembly, I fought to make lives easier for the families of the region. As a Representative, I've worked to establish the first laws of our nation and organize our government. As Governor, I will bring the two together, to make the North an example of efficiency in governing with an emphasis on caring for the people. I will work to raise the minimum wage, because no one should have to work three jobs to live comfortably. I will work to expand healthcare coverage, because no one should have to die because they couldn't afford to see a doctor. I will work to bring people together, because a house divided cannot stand.

Friends, this isn't about me. This isn't about my opponent. This is about giving the people of the North the best Governor we can. We need a candidate who is tested. We need a candidate who can lead. We need a candidate who can inspire. I believe that I am that candidate. I hope you agree and that you will join me in this race.

Thank you all.

Hello everyone! Thanks to Blair for posting this and Dkrol, that's a pretty great speech! Cheesy

Well I'm Flo, and I've been active in the game since late ~2013. During this time I was a Councilor in the Pacific (now West) region, speaker of the Pacific Council, legislator in the Imperial Dominion of the South (I helped lead an effort to get the name changed), Speaker of the Southern Legislator, briefly was the Secretary of the Interior, and I was the Governor of the Southern region in 2015, and recently I moved to the Northern region (irl). What I mean by all of this is to say that I'm an experienced legislator and I have served in most levels of Government, and I'm a seasoned fighter.

During my time as a legislator, I've introduced many bills that have passed including the Women's Health Act (which made health insurance plans cover mammograms, gynecologist appointments, ending ultrasounds if women choose to abort a fetus, and ending the need for women over 16 to get a prescription just to get birth control), the IDS Environmental Act (which would have increased fuel efficiency, encouraged renewable energy growth, and would've made appliances and air conditioners more energy efficient), the Taxpayer Receipt Act (where people could calculate and see how and where their tax dollars were going) , the Neighborhood Teacher Act (which would get highly prepared and committed teachers to teach in high poverty schools for a substantial amount of time), and many, many more that I can't name in a speech.

I have a record of fighting for women, fighting for the environment, fighting for our kids, and now I'm prepared to fight for the working class to make an economy that works for all of us.

My plan includes ending homelessness in our region, especially among the veterans that served our country, ending corruption in our political and financial systems, and to bring activity and discussion in our legislature (something that is sorely lacking right now).

At this point we need someone who knows how to fight and how to work with both liberal and conservative members in the Assembly. We need someone who has the experience and the work ethic who is ready to make those who need a voice in our government finally be heard.

We need to have a strong leader who is willing to do this.

We are at a turning point in our region's history, and there's so much work to be done, and so many battles to win, but I believe I am the best person to give our vulnerable people a voice and to bring together our region to become one of hope, prosperity, and something which other regions look to for inspiration.

When you go and vote for our nominee, I hope you can go with the Flo.

Thank you Smiley

Ballot is closed.

Flo is the winner of the Labor Party Primary, and has the endorsement for the Northern Gubernatorial Race. Congratulations Flo- you'll be a great candidate. As many members have said we're blessed to have two such good choices
