I think that ABC/WaPo poll was the only poll showing Trump at 46%. Every other poll, even with the race tightening, he's been in the mid-30s to low-40s. Sure these polls have a lot of undecided, but he hasn't yet proven he can convert them over to his side. I think there just aren't enough of his demographic to actually get to a winning PV.

I can never tell if these numbers are part of their tracking poll or not. Like, I hope Reuters isn't actually trying to argue this race went from tied to double-digits in two weeks.

These types of articles should always link to some kind of official toplines at the very least.

EDIT: It is part of the tracking poll. For what that's worth.

Now we just need Statespoll to tell us how they oversampled Democrats by 3.096%, undersampled Republicans by 2.461% and how Trump will crush Hillary among Independents, meaning Trump is actually ahead by 7.9382%...!

It will get no press though. The media only likes outliers when they're bad for Hillary.

Agreed, unless this margin becomes consistent.

So great Sampling. Totally skewed for Hillary.

DEM = 48% (DEM+LD)
REP = 32% (REP+LR)
Independent = 11% (TRUMP beat Hillary 34%-19%)

Party Identification of This time Reuters/Ipsos Poll (Page 15)
http://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/2016ReutersTrackingCorePolitical60116.pdf

Asked of 1,332 adults
Democrat    40%
Republican    27%
independent    11%
LD Lean Democrat (D)    8%
None of these    7%
LR Lean Republican (R)    5%
Don't Know    4%

if sampling was normal like DEM 38 REP 34 Ind 28
it could be converted as
TRUMP 37.76% | Hillary 35.74%

1) TRUMP
DEM(38%) X 9% + REP(34%) X 73% + Ind(28%) x 34% = 37.76%

2) Hillary
DEM(38%) X 72% + REP(34%) X 9% + Ind(28%) x 19% = 35.74%

Great news. If this poll is true, she definitely needs to make a play for Arizona and Texas.

Reuters should just retract themselves from the election - they are horrible at this.
