I only really have denim jeans. I also owned a denim jacket which I used once for reasons.

Option 1 only, of course. I only wear jeans at the farm and occasionally in the evenings. I have 6 pairs of 7fam jeans in the exact same straight cut with different colors/washes. When one gets worn out, I just buy a replacement. It's wonderful, and I do a similar thing with my shirts.

Don't care for denim.  I own a few pairs of bluejeans, and I assume they fall into the category of option 1, but I can't remember wearing any of them during the last five years or more.  

The popularity of denim mystifies me a bit.  There's a culture built around it.  Everyone from Country Star Kelsey K ("Blue Jean Girl") to Pop icon Neil Diamond ("Forever in Blue Jeans") to 80s phenom Terri Gibbs ("Somebody's Knockin'") has songs dedicated to the denim god.  I can understand their value for cowboys running herds along the Goodnight-Loving Trail from Fort Worth to Chicago and points beyond, but for most of us, a pair of lightweight cotton slacks--or perhaps Italian-crafted dress pants if you're a businessman--are more comfortable and more useful.  Unless, of course, it's summer.  Between about May 15 and about August 25, I don't think I ever wear any sort of long pants, unless there's a wedding or a funeral.  But even then it's not denim.

only option 1.  Levi 501's straight legged is all I've worn for pants since I was teenager.  I don't wear pants very much though.

I own one pair of blue jeans. They are for yard work and other tasks where heavy work pants would be appropriate. I replace them about once a decade. Even as a youth I didn't care for them except as work clothes.
