Generally speaking, politicians don't denounce what the worst of their supporters say. It's unfortunate, but true. I don't remember Clinton denouncing or directly addressing the PUMAs.

Reddit is central HQ for the crazies.  When combined with Sanders' statement/stump speech he eventually delivered regarding the NV convention, this is not the behavior of a candidate who wants to calm things down.
