Under what conditions will the democratic superdelegates switch to Hillary Clinton?

Bernie is a lot closer in the basic delegate count.

I assume you mean switch FROM Clinton TO Sanders.

It would have to be a pretty special case. The superdelegates are party people and Clinton is the obvious party choice. Hell, Sanders isn't even really a democrat, so no real surprise there.

Thanks. Seems a bit un-democratic.

If he hits the lead in the pledged delegates, will they switch?

No. They would only do that if A) He also lead by a good margin in popular vote or B) Clinton was removed via scandal/illness.

Most of the super delegates are elected officials, so it's not that undemocratic. It's not like these are random people or unaccountable party bosses.
