Perry is far more articulate than I'd imagined.

My ranking of debate performance:

1. McAfee. His goal should be to convince Libertarian delegates that he is not only a genuine Libertarian, but he's more Libertarian than Johnson and could potentially outperform him. So far so good, and he came across as clever and good humored to boot.
2. Perry. Honestly it's kind of embarrassing that somebody who openly says that we should disband the United States is outperforming just about everybody in our debates. Anyway, he'll always be to radical for me, but he could really get a lock on radical support with performances as solid as this. He was much better than I've seen him in debates before.
3. Petersen. He's probably the most articulate and charismatic candidate on stage, but he didn't use his natural ability effectively this time. I doubt anybody will be won over by his pro-life-ish coalition-building statements, and his "I don't know what I would do, I'd just do what the Cato Institute told me to do" answer was unsatisfying.
4. Johnson. "Donald Trump is a p---y" was the line of the day, but otherwise, he was underwhelming. He's not a strong debater, so I expected this a bit, but why is he doubling down so much on his weird Sharia Law kick? That's not going to win over Libertarians, it was like he was trying to lecture the audience, but failing because he's not much of a lecturer, either.
5. Feldman. It seemed to me that he managed to lose his train of thought once or twice. Honestly, I'm not taking him very seriously. Everybody knows that Kerbel would have made the 5-person debate instead of him if Kerbel hadn't been ill.
