I don't support a VAT. I support a National Sales Tax (preferably), or a flat tax (nominally).

Would it replace other federal taxes. That would require a national sales tax of 60%-70%? What a crazy idea.

Yes, it would replace other federal taxes. And it wouldn't be nearly as high because the budget would be a lot smaller.
