If Rubio's "oops" moment truly sinks him, I don't see where any the establishment candidates win anywhere, much less actually have a path to the nomination especially if 3 of them are still in the race come March.

Even the less conservative states in the North like NY, NJ, and Massachusetts will be pretty favorable ground for Trump. Rubio was the only one I think who could stitch together a coalition of people big enough to win a state.

If Kasich gets the coveted second place, I think he may sneak a primary or two.

So, Fiorina, Carson, and Gilmore are done.

The question then is will Rubio, Jeb!, Christie, or Kasich be able to win a single state among them.

The way I see it, if any of those people end up in 6th place Tuesday night, they'll be dropping out soon afterward. So it's a four or five man race after that.

I think South Carolina then serves to do the final culling of the herd. If Kasich or Christie are still in by then, they might be done.

At that point, it's Trump, Cruz, and one or two "establishment" candidates. And I think at that point the field is narrowed down enough that some states can be won.

I'm willing to bet that at least one of Rubio/Bush/Christie/Kasich will still be left by Super Tuesday, and will carry at least a state or two.

Yes, Vermont votes on Super Tuesday. Presumably the establishment choice should at least be able to win there, especially if it's a Kasich, Christie or even Jeb (Rubio may be iffier).

Wacky wavy inflatable tube man or Christie will take Rubio's place as the establishment candidate.
