No, Bernie is not a Communist, but the responses here really show the bias of Atlas/AAD.  There are threads pages long baselessly accusing Marco Rubio of being a homosexual, [insert Republican here] saying something crazy, etc.  and there wouldn't be the same outcry/ridicule of a poster suggesting such things, and oftentimes a lot of encouragement.

MW Rep,
FYI. Many of the threads, and especially many posts, accusing Rubio of being a homosexual, etc come from people with Republican (blue in Atlas) avatars/labels. It's the Dump supporters who are bagging on Marco.

If Trump weren't running, I'd be a Democrat or at worst, an independent. The Republican Party is a complete joke.

I'm surprised the linked piece doesn't go for the obvious and point out that he spent his honeymoon in the Soviet Union. And not Moscow or Leningrad, either, Yaroslavl.

"Hey hon, you know what's a real romantic place for us to go and do some anti-communist Wink-ing? Yaroslavl, Northern Russia, Soviet Union."

Yaroslavl has the coolest flag of any city in the world.

Socialist, communist, it really doesn't matter. What matters is that he's unelectable as president; too much of the country is against the positions he takes. End of story.

Which ones? The majority of the country supports his major policies (health-care, higher education, campaign finance reform, etc.)

It's very telling that even when Republicans redbait, they don't fearmonger about dictatorship and banning elections (perhaps because it would be too unbelievable) but instead they fearmonger about the tyranny of 10% higher taxes.

This is the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats think the Soviet Union was a bad country because civil liberties were restricted. Republicans think the Soviet Union was a bad country because it gave its citizens healthcare.

The cost for his programs is something like $18 Trillion. Which I suppose is fine, given that his tax proposal will bring in an additional $18 Trillion to cover it all. I just don't think the American electorate is willing to follow him in that direction.

Or you know civil and economic liberties were trampled.  Do you people even hear yourselves?

it's more the manner he packages those policies that would be controversial
