It's not like he said this unprompted. He was responding to a questioner who raised it, and then moved on.

It's amazing how this loon can parrot right-wing talking points and still be considered a "progressive" by his low information supporters.  Can the Sanders Cult just die already?

He's right I don't think any progressive should condone what Bill did.

Anyone who thinks this was attacking Bill or Hillary clearly was too lazy to read. He said Bill Clinton's affair was disgraceful, but not a matter of impeachment and not a matter of importance on this scale.

And guess what? It was disgraceful. I'm a liberal and I can say with certainty that it was disgraceful. It's a disgusting abuse of power, and his inability to manage his personal life and let it spill into his public life was incredibly disappointing.

Everyone, including Bernie, agrees that the Republicans were embarking on an idiotic and futile quest, but that doesn't make Bill Clinton a saint.

I didn't read it as an attack on Hillary, for what it is worth.

This selfish vanity campaign needs to end NOW, before he does more damage to the Democratic party and people around the country who are actually fighting for progressive change.

Sanders characterization of Clinton's behavior isn't really different from that of Al Gore circa 1999-2000. Would the people condemning Sanders now have condemned Gore?

People running for the Democratic presidential nomination shouldn't be calling popular, successful Democratic presidents "totally disgraceful." It's not that hard to understand dude.

Wow, so incredible that at least one other candidate is willing to call out the hypocrisy of the left. Still can't support his laughable agenda but good move.

Of course Bill Clinton's behavior was disgraceful on a personal level. But it's dumb for Sanders to play into a prominent Republican talking point.

Remember, the whole point of Bernie's campaign is to get young people (who don't even remember the Bill Clinton presidency and have no frame of reference to care about Hillary) to be excited about the 2016 election, and then this summer and fall channel that energy and excitement into votes for Hillary Clinton. He's doing a great job of it so far -- if Hillary wins a close one in November she can probably directly thank Bernie for it -- so I'm willing to forgive this error, as long as he doesn't keep it up.

Sanders, of course, has an advantage over almost all elected Democrats insofar as his political career has never been contingent on pretending that Bill Clinton is anything other than a national disgrace.
