The entire TSA is a joke.  Thanks, Dubya!

oh good lord. Puerto Rico can't make the news if it's not something absurdly negative like this.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. So yes, I have been. It's not bad at all other than the sh**tty service, which is staple throughout the whole island.

Yeah, I remember individual shoes and items of clothing coming down the luggage belt outside of the luggage.  Smiley  Yeah, it's an unpleasant place (the airport I mean) but my trip was fun.  Smiley

Yeah, service shouldn't be a ratings parameter in PR xD. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. PR is an amazing place to stay at for a while, but life quality is seriously lacking for a plethora of reasons.

Now can we start dismantling this defunct organization.

The TSA drained 7.55 billion dollars from the discretionary budget in 2015.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transportation_Security_Administration

The TSA has never stopped a terrorist. Reports have show that the TSA has a 95% failure rate in stopping a weapon from getting on an airplane.

I can't recall if this was Ridge's idea, or Dubya's and I'm a fan of both, but man this turned out disastrous.

I work at an airport and I don't mean to be rude when I say this but TSA was nothing more than a jobs program. It's useless at this point, I guess the best thing is to redo the whole way they operate. Just do the x-ray machine stuff. Guns and knives should be the biggest concern, I highly doubt people will ever let a 9/11 situation ever happen again because we're so aware of that danger now.

Still, from experience, TSA employees are much more friendly and helpful than their Canadian equivalent (and less paranoid).

Come on guys, everybody knows you can't just close a govt agency.  First, people that don't understand macroeconomics will bitch because of all the lost jobs.  Are TSA employees under a union?  Og help us if it is.  <checks>  Of course.  Forget it, we're stuck with it even if everybody knows it's dumb and worthless, you can't fight stupid.  Especially when stupid will have teachers and teamsters on their side.

The TSA needs serious, top to bottom reform.

I always think of the South Park episode with the fat black ladies shouting "let me check inside ya asss-hoooole" every time I go to the airport and go through security
