Let's try to predict what'll happen at the next debate. Who'll win it? Who'll lose it? There will be great moments?

Carson - continues to be low-energy and will slowly sag.
Trump - continues to be vague and talk tough
Cruz - He'll do fine but the performance will be considered sub-par when in the context of his rising poll numbers
Rubio - Continue his above average performance, solidify his 'establishment choice' position.
Bush - Low-energy loser!
Christie - Meh, he will do fine enough to 1 up Kasich but that's about it.
Kasich - continue his downward spiral.
Fiorina - will go on and on like she always does, talking about zero base budgeting (sidenote: I doubt anyone in the base knows what she's talking about when she says that. Continues to fade.

I felt bad that this had 0 replies so I replied.

Trump - will say what comes into his head even more than usual. Like Hitler before Barbarossa, he's firmly convinced of both his genius and invincibility.
Kasich - will focus all his efforts on tearing down Trump. May attempt to murder Trump with his bare hands.
Christie - will go hunting his moment, probably won't find it.
Fiorina - will double-down on her hyper-competent facade.
Carson - smile and nod his way to political irrelevance and more books sales and speaking fees.
Rubio - pray his prepared lines see him through the night, while trying to avoid triggering his own collapse.
Cruz - will come prepared for a breakout moment, and will be packing a collection of verbal daggers sharpened and carefully labeled for whose back they're destined for.
Bush - will try to push the narrative that he's the only competent adult in the room.

Trump won't go after Cruz and vice versa. Cruz is gonna focus his attacks on Rubio with Trump's tacit support.

Trump:  will double down on Muslim rhetoric and tussle w/ Cruz over ethanol and ability to work w/ others
Cruz:  will attempt to continue his "neutrality" policy w/ Trump, but will be very tough on Trump if he chooses to attack
Rubio:  Will try to remain above the fray, and likely will have a decent night as he may be shielded from much of Trump's fire
Christie:  will be aggressive and pugnacious but likely not attacking other Republicans - should do fine
Carson:  will likely be too low-energy and continue to fade
Jeb:  hopeless campaign at this point,
Fiorina:  becomes increasingly irritable due to her sagging poll numbers
Kasich:  will get angry and lecture everyone about how great he is, but likely won't get very far

I predict Rubio, Cruz and Trump will be the only relevant people left after it.

-Rubio will deliver his traditional safe middle of the road conservatism, carefully crafted rhetoric to sound like the "destined" leader and party nominee

-Cruz will do his typical "good" debate and avoid downtalking Trump

-Trump will be Trump and his polls will not budge

-All others lose their poll support drastically. Bush, Paul (regardless if he is in it or not), many others drop out shortly after. Carson stays in long term and polls modestly but much lower as long as Trump is in.

I think Rubio gets obliterated.
Trump and Cruz want Rubio dead so they can be the only two left.  Christie, Kasich and Bush need Rubio gone if they're going to have a fighting chance in the establishment lane.
Especially look for Christie to claim that Rubio is a little kid who's never actually fought the good fight against terrorism.  Rubio had just turned 30 on 9/11.
Also, Carly and Carson will come in, do their shtick, and leave.  Nobody cares about them anymore.

If Trump and Cruz go after Rubio, that could be an opportunity for Rubio, since he will get a lot of attention. If he handles the heat well, it could help him considerably. If he gets flustered, and reaches for his glass of water, then it could hurt him.
