Crash course was somewhat useful for AP prep. Don't really care about his writing, but some of friends like it.

I've only seen a few of his videos, but it's pretty cringeworthy.

His videos are alright but they're probably good to educate teenagers so FF. His books should be burned though, they're garbage.

I thought the YouTuber and the author were different people.

My "recommended" box on youtube was recently almost nothing but his "crash course" videos for like 2 weeks, despite my never (to my knowledge) having watched any of them. Thankfully it's stopped doing that but I still voted HP. But really more like Horrible Algorithm.

(Well, actually it's a pretty good algorithm most of the time, but has some quirks; I think I must've "liked" a video with only 1 other like, and that other person was a big fan of those "crash course" things).

FF. He's a funny guy, he seems cool, and his youtube videos are great refreshers on history, bio, etc.

Never heard of him, but Young Adult Fiction authors are HP by nature besides that dude who wrote Hatchet.

His YouTube crash courses are absolutely fantastic. His novels are mostly meh, but Looking for Alaska was an absolute masterpiece. On the whole, pretty strong FF.

Hatchet was a fantastic book. Gary Paulsen was the author, right? He wrote an awesome book called The Crossing as well.

I got about ten pages into Looking for Alaska before I had to actively restrain myself from throwing it across the bookstore.

Sorry to bump a comment from a few days ago, but...what didn't you like about it? It's far and away my favorite of all of Green's works.

The overpowering feeling I got from it was 'twee'. All of Green's work is twee, but Looking for Alaska is trying hardest not to be, and its failure is conspicuous.

He comes off as a smug know-it-all who doesn't actually know-it-all.
