The limit shouldn't have to be raised, I agree with Rand and Ben about it. Spending has to be lowered and we need to start paying off our debt as quickly as possible.

I am not entirely sure that Carson truly understands what the debt limit is and how it relates to the national debt and the deficit and the budget and appropriations.  I suspect tonight his ignorance on issues related to how the Federal Gov actually works will be exposed, assuming moderators ask follow up questions and 'drill down' beyond the flimsy soundbites.

Thus catapulting him into first place?

Supporting Carson is anti-capitalist if he goes ahead with this plot. Sanders must be sad the Republicans are doing a far better job at being radical socialists than he ever could be Cry

We probably agree from different routes, but yes, bobloblaw has a good point.

Regardless of people's opinions on how much spending we should be doing, it's a fact that we will approach our debt ceiling again at some point. It's all well and good to say you want to lower spending and pay off the debt, but you need to be willing to say that you'll raise the debt ceiling.

It's really strange that I agree with bobloblaw on something, though probably for a different reason.

I literally just said we shouldn't have to raise it.

Yeah, plenty of Republicans pretend not to know what the debt ceiling is in order to deliberately mislead the American people about what's going on, but Carson is the only one who I think might not be faking it .
