Carson, who has been close behind Trump in recent polls, seems to be falling back again (though still in a strong second place).

Looks like the Carson bump is over.

But Trump says he's ready to begin "Phase II" of his campaign, and begin to actually spend money and build the groundwork.

Does anyone here still think Trump is just taking an ego trip and that he'll drop out before the voting actually starts?

Nah, he would love the attention of being President.

But I don't think he'd like the work. I don't think he wants the responsibility of the presidency, but he'd liked being called Mr President. He's pretty much laying the groundwork for his exit, when it comes. If his numbers slide into November, he'll bail. His ego is big enough to make him want the job, but clearly too fragile to deal with a loss.

Trump would love being president.  What work do you think it involves?  Other than ceremonial stuff, it's mostly either delegating jobs to the right people, bargaining with congress and foreign leaders, and dealing with the press.  Trump clearly believes he'd be more than adept at all three of those things.

Eh, he'll let his advisers and military commanders make most of the decisions for him.

As for the Thread title, here's a picture of where the three candidates currently stand:

Carson's bump isn't over. It's Fiorina's bump dying down that we should be talking about.
