Part of the Leeward Islands. The first Caribbean state on this list, and one of a couple of very small English speaking states in that sea. Population is only about 80,000. Like most of the English speaking Caribbean states there is also a local creole. And also like them most of them (other than those who openly try to be tax havens), the local economy is heavily dependent on tourism. This is a country whose map is better seen in relation to its neighbours.

I seem to recall that the Washington sniper had a plan to kidnap the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda but now I can't find anything about it.

While the West Indies Federation understandably broke up, I always thought it a shame that the Leeward Islands didn't gain independence as a single federal state or at least the five adjacent islands of Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, and these two, even if BVI, Anguilla, and Dominica decided distance s were too great to make being part of a federal government workable.
