If Norm Coleman beats Hubert Humphrey (or any of the other good choices), I will have completely lost all respect for you people as intelligent human beings.

Rudy Boschwitz, if only to spoil it for generally awful Norm Coleman.

Boschwitz, Coleman and Mondale were all pretty solid, but I voted Boschwitz.

Humphrey, though Wellstone is a very, very close second.

Humphrey but I like how Franken's doing too.

I like Wellstone in how he stood for his ideals but he isn't my favorite.

Minnesota has had some great senators, I went with Wellstone, but Franken, McCarthy, and Dayton come close behind in my opinion.

Gene McCarthy.

Wellstone meant well but was arguably out of step with his time.

Humphrey embodied everything that was bad about the mid-20th century Democratic Party.

Wendell Anderson was a terrific governor but a forgettable senator.

(Not as forgettable as Dean Barkley or Muriel Humphrey.)

David Durenberger was a good guy.

Rod Grams and Rudy Boschwitz were awful.

Mark Dayton is kind of a reverse Anderson - seems to be doing a better job as governor than he ever did as a senator.

What supporting civil rights?

But Minnesota has a strong field of senators, extremely strong. The devout kennedy fan in me could never vote for Gene though-his comments after RFK's death were disgusting
