Few people have heard of any except Hillary, who has a 61/20 positive rating, and Bush, who is at 5/35. Someone by the name of Andrew Farmer is also included...most likely a deliberately fictitious inclusion, though some people still have an opinion on him!

Also, olds are seemingly the least familiar with current U.S. politics and youngs are the most. When to comes to UK politics, it is vice versa. Tongue

I recall a thread quite a while ago asking "how will the international community react if Hillary Clinton is elected?" and half the responses were "negatively", "terrified", "would dislike the far right warmonger". What a surprise, people projecting their own thoughts of Hillary Clinton to people who don't share them! Who would've thought? Roll Eyes

The results for Austria would not be much different, as I have suggested here:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=210729.0

Hilldog would easily win the polls here and would likely get a slightly higher percentage than in the UK (previous polls in 2008/2012 have shown that the GOP-candidate always gets a few % more in the UK than in other Western European countries).

So, basically 65-15 Hillary/Republican in the UK and 70-80% Hillary vs. 5-10% Republican in most other Western-European countries.

Who cares what the rest of the world wants? The rest of the world wants a US president who makes the US weak and less remarkable. More like Belgium and less like America.

Naturally American leftists want the same. Should we care what Euros who are bankrupt and have a worse immigration problem than the US think? Most of whose countries when adjusting for cost of living would be among the poorest states in the USA. American Exceptionalism use to be embraced by the left before they made their mission desconstructing America.

Andrew Farmer actually sounds like the perfect name for a folsky young generic candidate that would win over voters.

Hilldog actually has a lower favorable rating in Germany than in the UK (also YouGov).

In Germany, Hillary has a 96% name recognition (just like in the US):

Rubio, Paul, Cruz only have 30% name recognition while Bush is known to every 2nd German.

Europeans countries have far stricter immigration policies than America.

You left out Huckabee, Fiorina, Jeb Bush, Rubio, Jindal, Carson, Everson, Snyder,  Pataki, Trump, Christie, Kasich, Santorum, Graham, Perry, and Walker

only Sweden, and even then it's tenuous. (Try advocating for birthright citizenship in Scandanavia)

Wiki disagrees with you:
The immigrant population in Norway is approximately 759,000 people.[1] The number includes immigrants and children born in Norway to two immigrant parents. The five largest immigrant groups in Norway are in turn Polish, Swedish, Somali, Lithuanian and Pakistani.[1]

Due to Norway's membership in the European Economic Area, migrants from the European Union as well as Iceland and Liechtenstein do not require any residency permits.

At the beginning of 1992, immigrants and Norwegians born to immigrant parents totalled 183,000 persons, or 4.3 per cent of Norway’s population. 22 years later, at the beginning of 2014, these groups had risen to 759,000 persons, or 14.9 per cent of the population.

Denmark has low immigration rates.

30% of Germans know who Marco Rubio is?  Do that many Germans have no life?  Following American politics that closely, that they know the GOP presidential field this early?  Or are many of those people just faking it?

Following German poltiics/news closely, I can guarantee you: 30% of Germans do NOT know about the early GOP field. They probably just heard that Rubio and Paul have announced and that's how they "know" them.

That's the thing.  Just going off of my own experience here in Oz…I really don't think as many as 30% of Australians would have even heard that Rubio has announced or have any idea that he's an American politician.  Sure, it gets mentioned on SBS World News when he announces his candidacy, but how many people here even watch that, or are going to retain that information a week later?  And Australians at least speak the same language as Americans (sort of), so I'd be surprised if things are any "better" in Germany.

But maybe I'm underestimating Australians here.  I don't know.  I haven't conducted my own poll here any time recently.

I don't know about German media, but at least here in the Austrian media (newspapers, online and TV) the 2016 US election has been covered strongly over the past month.

Take a look at the left-liberal "Standard" (which I used to subscribe):

http://derstandard.at/r2000014153649/US-Wahlkampf

The articles are also full of background stuff, not just the usual: "This candidate is running and that candidate is running ..."

Even the "Krone", which is read by every 2nd Austrian adult daily had significant coverage not only of Hillary Clinton, but also about Bush/Rubio/Paul and Cruz's campaign launches and biographical background info and political positions.

Which means it's not that unlikely that Rubio/Paul and Cruz have 30% name recognition here, with Bush having a 50% name recognition.

The situation in Germany is likely similar.

Don't you people have your own politics to pay attention to?  You expect to be annexed or something?

Sure, there's enough local political coverage here.

But Austrian media & journalists simply like to cover everything, even if it's just the boobs-enlargement of the Queen of Bhutan or the fall of a Chinese package of rice from a shelf and its political consequences.
