Alberta should become Independent. Anchorage should remain an American territory. Tongue

Is it true that Alberta is to Canada what Texas and Oklahoma are to the U.S. (extremely conservative and full of oil)? Maybe Alberta should just join America.

I don't know about Alaska. They have never been big on Democrats at the National level. I think its because we are big supporters of environmental protection.

Eek. I wrote Alberta and meant Alaska.
Well, they're sort of similar. Smiley

"Full of oil"?  Yes.  "Extremely conservative"?  Not really.  It's one of the most conservative provinces, to be sure, but it's not extremely conservative by American standards.

We would be well rid of that waste of money state.  Nothing but a big sucker of federal moneys, and it sends two horrible right-wingers to the Senate, not to mention the absurdity of such a place having 3 electoral votes!

Maybe we could give it to Exxon in exchange for our government.

Haha!  Good one Cash!  No, I suspect Exxon would not be willing to give up control of the US Gov't for any mere Alaska. Smiley

Exxon does not control the US government.

Texaco does, obviously.

maybe the US should sell it back to Russia and Americans should thank themselves on what a successful investment they made over  the past century.

Interesting idea...if Alaska had always been Canadian rather than American, I suppose current population distribution might be very different.
Then again, maybe not. Oil pipelines would run differently, though. Valdez Harbor would still be clean.
