Funnily, NM did not release them (they only had a canvass meeting) - but TN did.

So, 5 states to go.

There are now only 2 states left to release their official results:

* MT
* NY

Ohio was the last state to release them and Fitzgerald gained slightly in the last 150.000 counted votes.

That leaves the 2 states, plus AZ-02 and VT-Gov. as "open".

When does NY and MT certify their results? I'm tracking official results to see the final numbers.

Probably this week.

NY is always the last one (they once even found some 50.000 additional votes in a Queens warehouse, almost 4 months after the 2008 election).

Don't know really why MT is so late.

Cuomo is holding up the process because he doesn't want to believe the fact that Astorino crossed 40%.

But Astorino didn't break 40% ... (currently he has 39.56%)

If you take out the blanks and voids, he did.

Wikipedia really needs to update things....

Well, it only depends how you see the result:

The NY reporting page also includes invalid ballots in the total, which is pushing down Astorino's margin to below 40%.

If the invalid ballots are left out of the count, Astorino is above 40%.

The SoS page still has unofficial results though. Of course, no race is really close in MT - so yeah.

It doesn't surprise me that New York is the laggard.  The state board of elections just got into the 20th century with a election-night results website this year.  Maybe they'll get around to certifying the final results more quickly next year.  Baby steps.

NY has now certified their election results.

Which means all 50 states + DC have their official results online now.

The official AZ-02 recount results will be out tomorrow, but according to media reports there's basically no change compared to the initial count (McSally will win by 160 votes or so).

That leaves only VT-Gov. left, but the Dem. legislature will certainly re-elect Gov. Shumlin in Jan.

I can't find MT's certified results online. Tad confused there...

They did not update their election night page though, so probably that's what's confusing you.

I've done a formal tabulation of competitive races (plus races where party control flipped).

In the following Senate elections --

Alaska
Arkansas
Colorado
Georgia
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana (December runoff)
Michigan
Montana
New Hampshire
North Carolina
South Dakota
Virginia
West Virginia

The Republican vote was 10,165,349 while the Democratic vote was 9,371,707. Of the two party vote, Republicans won 52.03% and Democrats won 47.97%.

In the governorships, in the following states:

Alaska (Walker counted as the Democrat here).
Arkansas
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Kansas
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Wisconsin

Republicans won 17,744,031 votes compared to 16,914,852 for the Democratic candidates. That's 51.20% to 48.80% of the two party vote.

Throw in California, Texas, and New York (by virtue of being the large states), and the Democrats win the popular vote.

Any way to update the main atlas pages to make sure they all have the formal results?

I'm sure Dave will do this at some point.
