fezzy you ever get to looking up how much it sold for?

Sorry, I forgot about that...and now I can't use flash on my computer (which I need to use Zillow).

Or you could just say it ain't their business.

why should you have to tell them what your houses costs?

I don't really have a problem with them knowing.  I know I'd want to know, I myself am also very curious when it comes to real estate.

Seriously, I would like to know the architect.

Fezzy,

If your parents ever decide to move, I found a house for them.  I stumbled across this one while house hunting (and it is very nice):

New Albany, Ohio - listing information

Not really.  I was looking at large lots available near VA, and I didn't have the filter set correctly, and this house popped up.

Still a profound waste of space, but a beautiful house.

That's a beautiful house too. Anyone know what the asking price is?

ouch. When my parents bought my lifelong home, they got it for 94k. Now it's worth upwards of a million, albeit with major renovations. Real Estate is just too expensive.

Stay tuned. That situation may change. Home prices are falling here in Michigan and I suspect they are in other areas too. OF course if you want a mansion like that photo or fezzy's place it will still cost a fortune, but  nice homes for a family are becomming affordable around here.

Nice house.  I frankly don't like big houses like that, for myself.

Still, could you have seen using the money Fezzy's parents probably spend to that house and building a large, but classy, house.

I'd be proud of that kind of house.

I just remembered to do this!  I don't know why, but it's kind of embarrassing how much it's worth.

$9.41M...that's a lot more than I thought.

I'm not sure 'embarrassing' is quite the right term.. I'd say fear is a better one.  We can't help but feel that 'what goes around comes around'.

But don't worry, Fussy, the State is there to protect people like you.  Nobody abused on your family's behalf can get to you.

On a related topic - do you have any household servants?

Geez.. must be rough.  My parents built a resort with 1800' of lakeshore, a beach, a boat launch, 12 cabins, a house, and a lodge with a whirlpool and a sauna (all log buildings, by the way) on 45 acres of land, much of which was mature maple/basswood forest with hiking/xc skiing trails for ~$1.1 million.  Somehow I think your house's price was a bit inflated.

Of course, neither of my parents had a college degree and my dad was a machinist at a medium sized company in Plymouth and my mom stayed at home after working in nursing homes and cleaning houses since she graduated high school and we had just lived in our first house (after living in apartments and trailers) for 3 years thanks to First Time Homebuyer's money...

So, I'm a bit more optimistic than Opebo, because I've seen what a person can do with big dreams, determination, and a little arm twisting in the bank board room.. But I've also seen first hand how people will screw you completely over while you're in a coma in the hospital and you lose it all without any of your control... so, yes, Fezzy, it does come back to bite you in the ass.

Money has nothing to do with that. It's called human nature.
