I don't understand why everyone seems to believe that you have to convince everyone that you're a time traveler in order to stop the attacks.  Why don't you just call in some anonymous bomb threats on board the four planes that are going to be hijacked?  If you do it on a number that you'll never use again, you might be able to get off relatively easily.  At the very least, it could buy you more time.

Yes, that glorious Japanese Maple looks a heck of a lot better than the predatory old man. That purple leaf thing to my left is the smallest species of flowering plum tree, which I imported from the Northwest, and only grows as a bush in Socal. I am quite certain I have the only yard in Socal which such bushes grace. I can show you another of my fabulous Green Gem ficus tree if you like (also quite rare).

Can't rule it out...as in "I'm 99.995% sure the FBI wasn't responsible, I'm just really really paranoid" or "I'm 52% sure the FBI wasn't responsible, you just can't trust those guys" which is what "lean" would mean to me.  If it's the former, sure, whatever...if it's the second one....UGGGGGGG!
