Today (4 June 2015) I posted eight graphs showing the average age of the U.S. Senate every day from March 1789 to June 2015.  For those whose birth year and month are known but not the date, the 16th of the month was used in calculations.  For those of whom only the birth year is known, the 2nd of July of that year was used in calculations.  Those whose birth could not be narrowed down to one year were left out.  The Senate's average age ranged from a minimum of 43.96 years on 12 June 1801 to a maximum of 64.16 years on 17 December 2012.  On 1 June 2015 the average age was 61.57 years.

Here are some dates that I pulled from the data.  I will use "AAS" to stand for "average age of the Senate".

The 1st time the AAS was ≥ 50 : 4 Mar 1807

The last time the AAS was < 50 : 18 Sep 1869

The 1st time the AAS was ≥ 60 : 22 Jan 1905

The last time the AAS was < 60 : 29 Jan 2003
