I watched the CBS primetime interview with Oprah Winfrey and First Lady Michelle Obama. Based on what I saw tonight (it was a good interview, even if there was no 22nd Amendment with two-term limits, I don't think she'd want her husband to run for a third term if there was a chance.) Thoughts?

Luckily he still has time to decide.

What I am saying is that if there was no bar to a third term, she may have not wanted him to run.

Even with a 22nd amendment, it's unlikely any President would have been elected to three terms.

Eisenhower was getting up there in years, and too much of a traditionalist.
LBJ opted not to run for a second full term.
Reagan was 77 at the end of two terms.
Clinton had a major sex scandal, as well as a wife starting her own political career.
W was deeply unpopular.

So I doubt that Obama would have wanted to defy precedent in this way, given that it could taint his accomplishment as first black President.
