Debate on this bill will last for 72 hours, or until Wednesday June 4 at 6:00 PM, unless modified or extended. The sponsor has 36 hours to advocate for this proposed legislation. If he does not, this bill will be tabled as there is other pending legislation in the queue.

These are good changes and I support them. I also thank the governor for taking the intiative to improve our laws.

I'll support these changes. Though, I will say that until we hear news on how the Brevity Act is working, I still have deep reservations about that law.

I'm a bit addled at the moment.

However, to make a long story short...

Brevity Act: The way I'd written the law would only allow it for it to be applicable for half of the weekend, as opposed to its true intent. I thank a Person for pointing this out, and hope that this isn't too controversial.

Fair Bail Reform: Some were worried that this created a situation where judges might be more likely to deny bail outright, so I figure that this ought to at least mitigate that.
