Thomas Ravenel, who served as South Carolina's Treasurer for all of six months of his term in 2007 before resigning following an arrest and federal charges for cocaine possession, is now appearing on the Bravo reality series
Southern Charm, which seems to essentially be a Real Housewives-type show but with less wine-throwing and more shameless self-promoting.
Ravenel is attempting to capitalize on what he seems to think is fame by
exploring the possibility of reviving his political career.
While Thomas Ravenel may be a washed-up ex-pol who coasted to office on
his dad's name before resigning in disgrace to appear on a reality show with people nearly young enough to be his children,
he still has a way nicer house than yours. (Well, except maybe Torie.)
