My fellow Atlasians, lend me your ears. Gather ‘round the campfire. Allow me to weave you a tale tonight.

We are approaching yet another election this week. With each election the voters make their judgments known on how to steer our great nation for the next four months. You, the people, ultimately get to make the call on how to tackle our greatest problems.

I didn’t expect to be in this position at all only a few weeks ago. Reaganfan, a relic of the forum in more ways than one, asked me to be his running mate for his insurgent run for the Federalist nomination. After heavy thinking, I accepted the offer. We certainly had the odds stacked against us: President Duke has been popular across the political spectrum, and the establishment was firmly behind him. Or so it seemed. In the end, although we hadn’t captured the nomination, we defied the odds and made the primary a competitive spectacle.

Well, the fight isn’t over, ladies and gentlemen. The general election is upon us and now you will have three very fine tickets to choose from. Some have wondered why I haven’t simply abstained from presidential politics and gotten behind our incumbent President. Although I respect Duke very much, he has conceded too much to the radicals during his time in office. That is a record I cannot fully endorse. Voters deserve to always have an alternative, and I’m your guy.

I’m running with the Democratic-Republican Party.  I stand for expanding civil liberties, rolling back excessive government, being wise with our nation’s finances, and promoting the sovereignty of our regions. My running mate is Dallasfan65, who is a very good friend of mine and who has likewise fought for these issues during his time in politics. Opponents may slander this campaign as an unelectable right-wing effort, but we invite conservatives, liberals, libertarians, and everyone in between to join this movement.

I see a bright path ahead for Atlasia. Dallasfan and I are running to make a difference, and I hope that you’ll be willing to be behind us all the way.

Good to be here.

While I don't dispute that Duke has been an active President, no election ought to be uncontested. Thus, I'm appearing here with Hurricane Spiral to offer an alternative on the ballot: 35% more freedom, with half the calories. Smiley Though Spiral is a relative newcomer, I think that his tenure as Governor thus far shows that he would make a good President.

And I have a love of sirnick!

That being said, I already got to be the top of a ticket in October (albeit a write-in), so Spiral ought to have a stab at it. Smiley

Well, it's just about all wrapped up now. Last night I officially threw in the towel and congratulated President Duke on being reelected. This race was one hell of a ride, that's for sure. Both the President and Senator TNF made for very formidable and engaging opponents and that made this election one to watch. I won't forget about this experience anytime soon, I'll tell you that much.

Just about everyone has something to celebrate here. Duke's victory is obvious, but TNF mobilized the left and came out pounding strong even in the second round. As for myself? I went above expectations and came out with nearly 25% of the vote. I even won my home region! This was no easy task and I want to say thank you to all of the people who have supported me during this election. I also want to thank Governor-elect Dallasfan for being a splendid running mate. The people of Atlasia have made it clear that they won't simply bend down to the status quo and are instead willing to take a bold stand.

Where do we go from here? I'll continue to serve out the rest of my term as Mideast Governor and work on the ideas I've always espoused. Will I make another splash in presidential politics in the future? Who knows, it's hard to say at this point. But for all of those disappointed in my loss, I say don't be. We made a bigger impact on the race than was anticipated and we should be proud of that fact. 30 voters is nothing to brush off. Through our presence and our determination we have reverberated a clear message throughout Atlasia that our politicians must be held accountable. For those who have believed in my message, I'll say this to you: our time will come. We cannot be ignored at this point, and we'll work on the foundation we've created in February and go from there.

To briefly quote Frank Sinatra, "Regrets, I've had a few." But, ultimately, I don't regret being part of this all. Thank you for the good times!

You did well, Spiral, and for a moment, my camp was beginning to worry we'd be RIP'd earlier than expected.

Thanks for running a respectful race, and as I said to you in private, good luck in the mideast. If you ever need anything, my door is always open, unless I have it closed, then knock. Wink
