So, you may wonder, Humphrey wins nearly 100% of the vote? Well, not exactly.
You see, while Hubert Humphrey has won the Democratic Primary, Eugene McCarthy has started a new Party, the Hippie party. Also, George Wallace has started his own party, the "hang 'em high" party.
Humphrey is taking a moderate foreign campaign, while also discussing the about the success of the New Society.
He also has been hard on crime.
Finally, he is strongly for civil rights for African Americans.
McCarthy now, is promising an immediate end to the Vietnam War, ,  and also civil rights for African Americans.

Finally, George Wallace is campaigning as a staunch supporter of the Vietnam War, is against the Civil Rights Act, and is hard on crime.

Humphrey has chosen Edmund Muskie as his VP, McCarthy has chosen Frank Church as his VP, and you know who Wallace chose.

I recall reading on Wikipedia that documentation ca. the 1972 campaign revealed that McGovern may not have been as pro-choice as perceived at the time, despite the popular perception. And 1972 probably featured abortion as a much more prominent issue than 1968.

I changed it to McCarthy. I might take abortion out now, and bring the issue back into the 1972 election.
I also changed the map.

Well, the first debate just ended.
Wallace had apparently hanged a noose over both Humphreys and McCarthys podiums, leading to controversy.
Wallace swept the floor on both of them, and is now gaining more in the polls.
The new map:

The election is heating up, the New York Times has endorsed McCarthy.
Lyndon Johnson, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Richard Nixon have endorsed Humphrey.

Robert Kennedy, one of the nations most popular politicians, has been campaigning for McCarthy in several states.

The election has started! Here are the results so far.

Surprisingly, New Mexico is neck and neck between Humphrey and Wallace.

Gay marriage wasn't even an idea in 1968, none the less an issue.

It is now four years later, in 1972. George McGovern has now won the Hippie party nominee.
The Vietnam War has ended, so McGovern has been focusing on economic issues, plus legal abortion and gay rights. (but not marriage). He has chosen Frank Church as his VP. (just like McCarthy did).  Humphrey is running a pro life, tough on crime, and is running once again with Vice President Edmund Muskie.
Humphrey currently has skyrocket approval ratings.
Here are the polls so far.

McGovern and Humphrey debated tonight, with Humphrey owning McGovern on every topic, until people in the audience started throwing stuff at McGovern. Humphrey now leads by with over sixty percent in the polls.

Being massively expanded to include the 36 years before it Wink. It basically will be a totally different timeline, though the fate of the people involved in the Kerry timeline is fairly similar.
