Who are your top five favorite Senators who served after 2000, but are no longer serving in the Senate?

For me:
Kay Bailey Hutchison, John Warner, Olympia Snowe, Richard Lugar, and George Voinovich.

Judd Gregg and Alan Simpson come to mind right away.

(Edit: Forgot the "after 2000" part. Simpson retired in '96, IIRC).

Ted Kennedy, John Edwards (just ignore the Rielle Hunter fiasco), Hillary Clinton, Byron Dorgan and Dan Patrick Moynihan come to mind for me.

Kennedy, Feingold, Wellstone, Cleland, Biden.

Jeffords and Akaka are up there too. Harkin knocks off Biden next year (and it's a crying shame he's not a lifer).

As for all-time, La Follette is the GOAT.
