Anyone have any tips to free up time?

My personal favourite is batch cooking. Take a couple hours and make several dishes that you can freeze and reheat on those days you're too tired to cook. Good for the wallet and waistline too. I'll typically do a soup/stew on the stove, a casserole in the oven and a something else in a slow cooker. It takes a Saturday morning, and you have lunches an dinners for weeks.

What....does any of that have to do with time?

Saves him from having to take the time to cook a meal every single night.  If it only saves 30-60 min a day, hypothetically, that's quite a bit.

Always walk quickly. Find the little breaks between tasks to do something else - anything. Always look for shortcuts and more efficient ways to do things. For example: you have been drinking and desperately need to pee, and you need to water the plants. This is a perfect opportunity to combine tasks while also satisfying the innate needs of man to both inappropriately display his wee-wand and spread filth all over God's miracles.
