Skipping 1984 as only 1 candidate qualifies for the threshold. 3 days, 3 choices.

Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul is the nominee of the Libertarian party with former Alaska State legislator and Libertarian activist Andre Marrou as his running mate.

Psychologist, progressive activist and female African-American Lenora Fulani is the nominee of the New Alliance Party, which began in New York City as a smorgasbord of left wing activists ranging from social marxists to progressives, Fulani and her party emphasize issues such as civil rights, gay rights, feminism, poverty and so forth. They have been accused of being a cult however.

Fulani and her group had ties to former Presidential candidate and Civil Rights leader Jesse Jackson for a time, along with Al Sharpton but rejected them both after they continued to support the 2 party system. Life coach Joyce Dattner is her primary running mate but she ran a variety of running mates "appealing to different constituencies". She has been accused of antisemitism for her opposition to Israel and also her close ties to Fred Newman and his "therapy cult" are questionable.

Fulani is an interesting character who would later drift towards endorsing the likes of Ross Perot in 1992, Pat Buchanan in 2000 and Michael Bloomberg for NYC Mayor, her positions have shifted across the map with time.

White supremacist, anti-Semite, extreme white nationalist former KKK grand wizard David Duke is the nominee of the Populist party, a right wing white supremacist party that bears little resemblance to the populist party that existed at the turn of the century.  Physician Floyd Parker is his running mate.

Not voting for the white supremacist or the politically confused cult leader, thus Paul it is begrudgingly.

What a bunch of absolutely repulsive choices. Gun to my head, probably Fulani.

I was thinking the populist party would have a candidate that governed as a moderate that had views which appealed to a wide range of voters and listened to both sides of the debate.... but instead there's this ahsolse.

Ironically, Paul is the most mainstream option, so him.

This.  I wish the SPUSA guy were here, whatever his name is.

he only got .02% of the vote, below the threshold. Duke is only on here because he is a notable name but he only got .05% so it really should have just been Fulani vs. Paul.

Yeah, Eugene McCarthy is also a notable name.

I don't think McCarthy actively campaigned though, he was only on the ballot in a few states.

I can redo it the poll if you want... all I can find on McCarthy's nascent campaign was this speech http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/McCv and this article http://articles.philly.com/1988-06-06/news/26266367_1_eugene-mccarthy-consumer-party-history-books
