One of my good friends from Keshaw, FL says there's a growing Latino sentiment in Wyoming, and that it could become a lean-GOP tossup state in 2016.  We both agreed that it might be a good idea for Democrats to host the convention there to rally the Democrats' base, which is actually quite large in Wyoming.  Romney underperformed in that state last year, so while it might be fool's gold in the end, the Democrats wouldn't lose much from trying.  What do you guys think?

3 Electors. What's the point of trying for Wyoming?

If Wyoming swings, neighboring states like Colorado will ride Hillary's coattails.  I also think it's possible for Wyoming to swing Democrat because Obama carried Teton County last year.

I honestly think Salt Lake City would be a better choice. Republican support in Utah in 2012 was inflated due to Romney being a Mormon, so I could see it being a legitimate swing state in 2016. Plus it has twice as many electoral votes.

I think having the convention in Oklahoma City would also be a decent choice, helping to flip swing states like Kansas and Texas.

Wyoming is one of the least likely states I can see Hillary flipping.  Her polling in the Western/Rocky Mountain states has been poor compared to other regions.  She's done well in the Northeast/Sunbelt/Midwest/Appalachia/West, but in the same manner Obama was one of the worst candidates for Appalachia, Hillary is one of the worst for those Rocky Mountain states.

Dark Blue = Tier 3, Romney states where she will perform worst in comparison to other D candidates
Blue = Tier 2, Romney states where she will perform average in comparison to other D candidates
Light Blue = Tier 1, Romney states where she will perform best in comparison to other D candidates (does not mean she will win them)

True.  Obama was a good fit for states like Wyoming.  I wouldn't be surprised if voter fraud weakened his margins in the state last year, but honestly I didn't think he would win there anyway.

I still don't see Wyoming, Utah, or Idaho going Democrat or even becoming purple anytime soon.  I seriously think Oklahoma is more likely to start trending left before any of those states.  Hint:  None of the four are likely at all.  If the DNC wanted a better city in a non-swing state, they should choose Oklahoma City.

Scott, I love you, but there is no way this is happening in our lifetimes unless something radical happens in Wyoming.

I too will take this thread very, very srsly.

The best option for the convention hall is going to be the local Holiday Inn, which boasts the largest convention floor in town at 18,000 sq ft.  That's almost a whole third of a football field!

Well, he was clearly a worse fit for most of the south, clearly.
