Here is the bills that need to be transferred from the last council. I'll only open constitutional amendments until the Great Reform Amendment is finished.

I was compiling that list before that. Cinci didn't add his title until after that as well.

Anyway, I support the idea of this amendment, but shouldn't it just be part of the Great Reform Amendment?

I assume the intent is to pass this faster than the constitution. The constitution might take a month.

This amendment is fairly straight forward.  I think most of us can agree that the Governor should be directly elected by The People, rather than passed down to any official for the remained of a term.  I myself, have questions as to the wording provided, and the procedure outlined.

First, do we agree that the Pacific Justice should open the booth, and if we agree, what action do we take if the Pacific Justice is absent at the aforementioned point in time?  Second, do we all agree with the timeline set forth?  I think we need for a minimum period of time between vacancy and an election, as well as a maximum time period enforced, required for continuity in the legislative process.  Any qualms with the prescribed times?..

Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

I have no problems with the Pacific Justice opening the thread, but as far as consistency, it's usually the Governor or Acting Governor. Is there a specific reason as to why you chosen the Pacific Justice?

The Justice [in theory] is supposed to be the unbiased, authority in the region.  The Governor and Speaker are both political, and both seeking elective offices.  Allowing the Governor or Speaker to open the booth creates a scenario where the authority that opens the booth for special election, may very well be on the ballot for that special election.

For the record, I am fully on board with having the Governor have a mandate from the people for his position. Thus, I hope we can put aside politics and make this common sense reform to our constitution before I resign.

Ok, I would be interested in amending it to the justice for all voting booths but that's more for the Great Reform Amendment than this.

That would be completely different than how any other region does it, but I wouldn't be opposed.

With four votes in favor and one not voting, this amendment is also ready for ratification by the people.
