The current mess we're in is a result of the joke of an electoral system we currently have.

No matter how you spin it, not having a secret ballot is undemocratic, immoral and wrong.
If we had a secret ballot we would not be in the mess we're in.

The Chartist League will campaign for a secret ballot.

I agree that this could be a good idea, but I'm curious regarding why it would solve absolutely everything...

Yea, someone would just tell the inactive person to PM their vote to whoever is operating the election. The solution is to have solid laws about inactive voters, or quit complaining. You can't have no laws yet still complain.

True... but there'd be no more of this crap over whether a vote should count or not.

Maybe... however, it could just be the case that, instead of it being open such that everyone knows what's going on, the keepers of the votes could just make the decision amongst themselves not to count a vote, which in my opinion would be even worse.

If we let a partisan politican run the elections again, that would be a concern.
We must instead have non-partisan returning officers.

Where do we find non-partisan returning officers?

Nominate some people who have no direct interest in the election, are not partisan and are trusted by most of us.

So we'd elect people who aren't interested in running for office to the office of running elections? Huh

I would GLADLY take the role of someone who would count and tally these secret ballots (I could care less who wins and who loses) -- I say all this because I'm really no longer interested in running for office, and I've always liked the idea of a secret ballot.

I agree it is a good idea and would like to join this league, but I still don't see how it would fix anything.

I would hope Atlasia is a Republic and not a Democracy.

I despise democracies and mob rule.

I despise democracies and mob rule.

The Constitutional Convention voted 10-3 to make the name Republic of Atlasia.
