Do you think Thomas Dewey would've made a good President?

He'd have made a decent President but hardly as good as FDR or Truman.

Probably would've been popular at the time, but would later be judges as "all right."  Like RL Eisenhower.

I voted "in general, yes" but that is only relative to the partisan alternative.  He would not have made a good president on an absolute basis.

For his time yes and he was about as good as our party had. I don't think he was as good as his opponents though.

I think he would have made a good President, not the best, but far, far from the worst.

Yes, either in 1944 or 1948, though he would've been better if elected in 1948.

I am inclined to agree with this, but I have noticed that Eisenhower's reputation has gone up quite a bit recently.
