Bob Rucho (R-Mecklenburg County)

HP; absolute partisan hack. He was in charge of redistricting; in theory, I guess some Republican would have had to draw the maps if it wasn't him, but they were still his work. He's currently leading the effort in the Assembly to reform the tax code in the most Jindal-esque way possible.

Senators work differently where I live - it's all elected on PR from the state. So nfi.

I voted HP/ Independent

Patrick Colbeck R Canton, MI

The only Republican state senator in Wayne county. probably will win in 2014 unless it is a Democratic year. He is a tea partier, and a supporter of right to work laws.

John P. McKinney (R-Fairfield)

He's our Senate Minority Leader, so as you'd expect, he blasts Dan Malloy at virtually every opportunity.  On the other hand, he represents Newtown and voted for the recent gun laws, but I'm admittedly somewhat neutral on that issue, so it doesn't get many points from me. Tongue  So I wouldn't call him an HP, but he's not an FF either.

Dan Soucek (R-Boone)

A real unpleasant social conservative. He was on of the people who sponsored Amendment 1, and he's a big ally of anti-zoning interests in Raleigh. He also doesn't have a way to contact him on his website!

FF, she's a really nice person. I've had the opportunity to meet her and she's just an all around good person.

FF; has given a lot back to the community and is a great man.  I haven't met him, but I know he's very well-respected.

Shirley Turner (D-Mercer)

HP. I'm not too enamored with Democrats at the state level, and she was one of six New Jersey Democrats to vote against same sex marriage.

Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg)

I like the guy. He's self-financed and first elected in 2010, true, but he's not exactly the ignorant-tea-party-type. Lots of work with self-driving cars and other technological stuff, and has a libertarian streak. So FF.

FF, if only because he beat back a challenge from a Tea Partier with Huckabee/Santorum-esqe tendencies.

Rucho, mine, voted for it but it failed 57-43 in his district.

Ken Yager (R-Harriman)

HP; typical unhinged Tennessee conservative, with almost no chance of being defeated for re-election. In fact, he ran completely unopposed last year.

Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield) is OK, I guess.

Heribert Rech (CDU-Bruchsal) is awful.

Met mine (Mike Brubaker, R-Lititz) last month. Seems bland and nice enough, but being part of the R majority in the Senate warrants an HP vote.

Wayne Harper (R-West Jordan) is the colorless crony of the conservative cabal contained in my community.

Manfred Pentz (CDU).

No idea, literally didn't know his name until looking just now.
