Boston Cops go after DIY indie-rock shows

Apparently they haven't found any Adult Swim neon signs in a few years (still one of the funniest things ever), and there is no other crime in Boston worth looking at, so they are going after the next greatest scourge on society, underground shows.  Ya know, those things that are so underground most people don't even know they exist?

Why the hell is this even illegal? Or, at least, why don't the cops just wait for a complaint to go to a house? There must be a lot of nothing to do around there.

My experience with nuisance laws is they only come into being and are enforced after numerous complaints from private citizens.  Some cops may take an unhealthy interest in this sort of thing but if you have ever lived in a big city and had to deal with a nuisance cops are a pain in the @$$ to get moving and check out your problem at 3am.  Over enforcement of nuisance laws hasn't been an issue in my adult life.

If you want to throw a party without observing local noise and safety ordinances move out into an unincorporated area of the county.  And by a house (or trailer) with a few acres around it.  You can do whatever you want and no one will care.
