I would be enthusiastic behind that ticket...

And yes, I want 1932 to go the way it did because Roosevelt is my personal favorite.

Looks like the alt-Democratic Party has been taken over by the right-wing. Guess there's nowhere else to go but the open arms of the Socialist Party. I was actually hoping for a Roosevelt nomination, because Thomas is dangerous from the standpoint that he is a pacifist and World War II is approaching quickly, but it looks like I'm going to hold my nose and cast my ballot for him, at least for the time being.

Thomas actually supported war after Pearl Harbor, so...

I was actually quite surprised when Smith led consistently.

Given my talks with seatown, I'm unsure with how much he had a hand in it, though he himself likely voted Smith.

Yeah, Norman Thomas's stance on World War II was a very mainstream one before the war, and after Pearl Harbor he supported intervention like everyone else.

Anyway, it's very unrealistic for a sitting president to be primaried for basically no reason, so I'm glad Al Smith held on.

Firstly, Norman Thomas stance on World War II was horrible, mainstream or not (blind isolationism is not a good thing).  Second, it was very unrealistic for Woodhull/Douglass and Debs to win, and it is not realistic that a ticket consisting of the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and the Speaker of the House would lose a house vote to decide the President Tongue  Realism has never been the defining feature of the timeline (not that this is necessarily a bad thing).  Much as I hate to admit it, this is the more interesting outcome, especially if Smith wins reelection (I suspect he'd have a pretty rough second term).
