You'd think socks would remember more from their previous visits, especially since it's only been a couple days since your previous sock was banned.

Highlighted for you, Antonio. (Besides, I'm not sure Oldie would have been able to create such a silly caricature new posting style.)

Congrats, Vegetaboi sock #4838439359. You've created the only scenario in which I would willingly (and enthusiastically) voted for a conservative Republican.

Nonsense; Mister Twister had style, he had substance, and above all, he had a better grasp on grammar than this weirdo.

2016

The year is 2016. Nine armed terrorists affiliated with white supremacist groups have taken control of the DNC, threatening to hold the entire convention hostage until their demands are met. Their demands, including a return to the Southern Democratic platform of 1860 and the appointment of State Sen. Hillbilly32 and State Rep. David Duke as the party's ticket in November, are met. They are to keep the party officials hostage to ensure that the ticket receives serious funding. Democratic Senator Brian Schweitzer manages to escape from the convention when Bill Clinton creates a diversion and Mayor Rahm Emanuel cusses em out while Sen. Cory Booker overpowers one of them to escape out a back exit.

At the RNC, meanwhile, similar shenanigans are occurring. Rep. Peter King has stood up to nominate Sen. Marco Rubio as the party's nominee, with House Majority Leader Darrell Issa as his running mate. However, former Vermont Governor Jim Douglas enters another name into nomination: Rep. Oldiesfreak1854 of Michigan, noted historical revisionist. Rep. Oldiesfreak had previously run an unsuccessful presidential campaign, carrying only his home state of Michigan and Northern New England. Despite being crushed in the popular vote, it appears that (through rather undemocratic means) Oldiesfreak's followers (known as 'the freaks') have succeeded in controlling a majority of state delegations. Oldiesfreak is duly nominated, and as his running mate he selects the only other man on the world stage with such a blatant disregard for historical fact, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, attempting to draw a sharp contrast with the current administration due to Gallup polling suggesting that President Ahmadinejad was overwhelmingly preferred by rural voters over incumbent President Obama.

Gov. Brian Sandoval, alongside Gov. Susana Martinez and Gov. Mitch Daniels for the Republicans and Sen. Brian Schweitzer, Sen. Cory Booker, and other minor Democrats who did not attend the convention, announce the formation of the National Union Party, which has as its main two planks non-racism and acceptance of history (the party would later add several more policy planks that allow it to remain cohesive, tending towards centrist/center-right fiscal views and centrist-to-left social views). National Union, while it has great popular support, is lacking in fundraising due to a takeover of the RNC apparatus by the freaks and the aforementioned situation with the Democrats.

On election day, early results are not favorable for the National Union. Oldiesfreak had unexpectedly pulled out victories in New Jersey (despite the vigorous campaigning of Gov. Chris Christie for the National Union ticket), Connecticut, and ME-02, while results from the South suggested that Hillbilly32 had an unprecedented 80% of the Southern vote, because he was popular amongst all southerners, including an inconceivable 98% of the black vote because black like him, which allows him to win in states polling suggested he was rather unpopular, such as the traitor state of West Virginia. Going through the night, the only state in the Midwest the National Union ticket wins is Illinois (due to splitting between downstate and the black vote in Chicago). However, NU dominates in the West and ends up with a majority of the popular vote.

FINAL ELECTORAL TOTALS

State Sen. Hillbilly32 (D-FL)/State Rep. David Duke (R-LA): 206 EVs, 31% of the PV
Sen. Brian Schweitzer (NU-MT)/Gov. Brian Sandoval (NU-NV): 198 EVs, 54% of the PV
Rep. Oldiesfreak1854 (R-MI)/former Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Abadgaran-IR): 134 EVs, 15% of the PV

2017

The United States House of Representatives has selected President Oldiesfreak1854, with the Senate picking President Ahmadinejad. Enraged by this decision, Hillbilly32 declares himself the rightful victor and sets off to Montgomery to establish his own rightful government against the illegitimate rule of Oldiesfreak. Several states join him in rejecting Oldiesfreak and proclaim the Second Confederacy. As the Confederacy controls several major military installations they are more than capable of threatening Washington, Oldiesfreak gives orders to evacuate federal installations to his new, more centrally-located capital of Mequon, Wisconsin. Maryland falls to the Confederacy soon after.

Oldiesfreak, now in command of much of the north, declares martial law, suspends the Constitution, and begins immediate mobilization. His troops launch a three-pronged strike on the New Confederacy, with an amphibious landing in Dover (due to Northern naval superiority) while great tank battles are fought on the Great Plains (Kansas/Missouri). Additionally, Afghan vets of the conflict in Kunar and Nuristan are used to invade the traitor state of West Virginia. The Confederacy fights back and manages to hold northern forces in Delaware and prevent their advance into Maryland, while the central prong quickly finds itself bogged down and fighting a mountainous insurgency. The western prong finds more success, and much of Kansas and parts of Missouri fall under Oldiesfreak's control.

However, not everyone in the north is content with the reign of President Oldiesfreak. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont finds the martial law that Oldiesfreak has declared utterly reprehensible, and not only resigns from the Senate but returns to Vermont to form a group to resist Oldiesfreak's government. Calling themselves the Freedom Fighters, this group of about 11,000 Sanders supporters quickly seizes control of the city of Burlington and proclaims the Second Vermont Republic. Oldiesfreak attempts to quell the rebellion, but much of his military strength is tied up in his war with the Confederacy. He does free Burlington, but the Sanders government moves to Rutland, Vermont, and he and his fighters fade into the Green Mountains to wage a violent insurgency.

Similarly, not all is well in the South. Texas Governor Rick Perry (not the brightest bulb) has decided to proclaim himself President of the Republic of Texas and declares Texan independence. Texas quickly asserts control over all of Texas and declares its reign over the state of Oklahoma as well. The Confederacy, seeing the north's failure with Vermont, quickly agrees to Texas secession if it will remain allied with the Confederacy. However, they refuse to relinquish the State of Oklahoma, and it remains claimed by the Confederacy though under Texan administration.

And remember those National Union guys? The West has formed the Union of Sanity, which controls all states Colorado and West. This new nation, closely allied with Canada (who is watching with growing horror what is unfolding on her southern border), intends to be a temporary measure until the rest of the nation comes to its senses; however, they quickly establish a Constitution and elect leaders to their government (using instant-runoff voting). The National Union Party quickly splits into the National Party (demanding a swift reunion with the United States, neoconservative), the Cascadian Party (demanding full independence for Sanity and a break with the United States, socially and fiscally left-wing), and the Liberty Party (opposed to violent reunification, center-left to center-right, generally trending libertarian). Brian Schweitzer is the Cascadian candidate, an interesting choice given Montana's general Liberty lean; Gary Johnson is the Liberty candidate, and Sarah Palin is the National candidate.

Sanity Elections, 2017

Sen. Brian Schweitzer (C-MT)/Gov. Christine Gregoire (C-WA): 81 EVs, 46.1%
Gov. Gary Johnson (L-NM)/Gov. Brian Sandoval (L-NV): 23 EVs, 30.4%Gov. Sarah Palin (N-AK)/Vice President Dick Cheney (N-WY): 24 EVs, 23.5% PV

SENATESad

An emergency Senate election was called to elect all 26 Senate seats for 5-year terms. Because so many politicians were trapped in the East, the Senate elected is composed of few former US Senators. The Senate results left the Liberty Party 2 votes short of control (Gregoire would break all ties); much of the Liberty Party's strength was in the East, winning states like Utah, Montana, and Wyoming, as well as Alaska. The Cascadian Party picked up both seats in Washington, Colorado, Hawaii, and Oregon, and the National Party won both of Nevada's seats.
