This is an interesting question but I feel bad for states that everyone seems to dislike even though they know nothing about them.

Green: I like them
Red:  I don't have a good opinion of this state
Gray:  Undcided

Not taking politics into account...

Blue: Positive
Red: Negative
Green: Neutral

Why would you have a negative opinion of Washington? All indications are it's one of the better states.

And a strongly positive opinion of Florida? HuhSad

Washington: Rain, and my ex lives there.

Florida: Beaches and Disneyland.

Stupid reasons, I know. Tongue

Disney World. Disneyland is in California. Tongue

Ah, you're right.  I always get the two mixed up, probably because it's been over a decade since I've been to Disney World. Tongue

Something about Florida bugs me.  Maybe the fact that it's so overly commercial and begs people to come spend thousands to visit some silly amusement parks?  Maybe it's where bitter old f**** from the Northeast flock to when their narcissism gets the best of them and they're just sick of everybody?  Maybe because California is better?  That and the weather is disgusting.

Somebody has never been to Florida outside of Orlando (or maybe South Florida?), and apparently The Villages. And we at least know how to balance a checkbook; basic math skills means Florida>California. And it's 70 and sunny right now. Have fun with your winter.

I'll explain my freedom state choices.

New York - Hometown. Gotta be representin'.

New Jersey - It's part of the tri-state area, plus some good bands are from NJ. Barely makes it due to Jersey Shore, though.

Connecticut - Easily accessible from across the Long Island Sound. Nice place, I've been there.

Massachusetts - There are a few universities in MA which I've thought about applying to.

California - I have a few close friends from CA, and so it has positive connotations for me.

Agreed.  At least Georgia isn't as hated as the rest of our southern brethren! Wink

Okay, so Red are states I really don't like, Blue are states I really like, and Green are the ones I'm neutral about (most of them)

Nevada was a toss-up but Vegas carried it over the edge. I would have used my custom 99%+ negative shade for Florida too but I wanted it to stand out a bit.

WV?

Anyway, I don't have a negative opinion on most states, perhaps certain particular regions (Hello, Houston Suburbia) but not states. However, there are very few I would be interested in ever living in.
