I'm surprised the vote is so close.  What's wrong with peace?

It lacks symmetry.  I'm not opposed to ensigns, but this flag merely takes two well-known and well-respected symbols and merges them in an confrontational sort of way.  It's like that little fish-with-legs creature that says Darwin in the middle.  At best, it's cute.  Mostly it's unoriginal.

Come up with something original if you want acclaim.  These tweaks on ancient symbols posing as brilliance don't really impress people.  Or at least they shouldn't.

Certainly no America hater here, and I don't think there are any in non-neglible numbers in the country, but I don't feel it's an offensive move at all. Merely a statement of aspiration. Do you feel "stuck to?"

I think his point is that they're just 3 bands of colors... that's not "wrong"... you just can't make something that's only 3 lines that exciting.
