Apparently, they may well not have. The data from the same article on what the results might've looked like in a proportional system is also quite interesting (and in which states do 'lines' help a certain party the most -- the California lines are responsible for giving Democrats 6 'extra' seats, more than any other state, assuming all remaining uncalled races are called for Ds, as seems likely).
