Something I've been thinking about.  Will people who are registered but not voting be pressured into voting by Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. posts on the first page talking about voting by their friends?

It's expected that there will be a drop in youth turnout to pre-2008 normals, but pre-2008 was also pre-social media age.  It might be something unaccounted for in this election.

I'll go with option 2.

I voted for the first option, but my actual answer is Yes, not by a lot, but by enough to make some difference.

It certainly can't hurt in our efforts to hold the line.

Yes, possibly by a lot. There were an awful lot of new registers in LA County, and the typical new registrant is a youth.

You make a good and interesting point about Pre-2008 levels of turnout are also pre-social media. I think this election's turnout will be a good indicator of whether or not social media has more potential or has reached its potential in GOTV.

I wouldn't be surprised if around 5 or 6 am facebook adds a "Did you vote?" popup on your newsfeed. I believe they did that in 2008.
