RIP, FF
My goodness, time flies. Like or hate his politics, Wellstone was a "true believer" and really did dedicate himself to serving his constituents and standing by his principles. In a book written about a year and a half after his death, Garrison Keillor remembered how often, when Wellstone visited public places, he made a point of taking some time to talk to the help, the staff or the people in the kitchen. Keillor referred to Wellstone jokingly but admiringly as "a short talkative Jew representing a state of tall, laconic Swedes." His loss was a difficult one, and today is a sad reminder of how quickly it can all be taken away. RIP.
