Obviously I like the San Francisco Giants and I don't like the New York Giants, but I don't understand what the part after the slash means in this case.

You forgot Option 3 (or should I say option 5?): the New York Giants (baseball) Tongue (not that I'm voting for them)

I'm going with the San Francisco Giants.

Big Blue, baby. The team is really fun to watch and Eli Manning is putting together a HOF half-a-decade filled with arm-bombs, comebacks, and double-Super Bowls over the Patriots. And of course, dat Eli-Face.

Remember the days when Jeff Kent, Barry Bonds and Jason Schmidt were all on the same team? Good times, good times.

You mean the days when we hadn't won a World Series title since moving here? I'm trying to forget them. Tongue

I kind of like both organizations.  The football one for beating the Patriots (twice) and the baseball one because of McCovey and for hating the Dodgers.  From an outside observer most sports fueds have an obvious good side and an obvious bad side.  The SF Giants are clearly the "good" guys here.

I loved that team. Of course, later I hated Jeff Kent.

Ha, I hate the Yankees and Rangers but root for the Giants unless they are playing the Jets. The bragging can get a little much but hey they earned it.

To answer the question though, I would go with NY baseball Giants.  Even though my baseball lineage descends from the Brooklyn Dodgers, I'm still all about the National League. It would have been so cool having 3 teams and I loved the Burns Baseball doc that showed those rivalries.

Try living mostly around Patriots and Giants fans. You couldn't imagine it. There's other Jets fans but we're outnumbered.
