President Obama maintains a 1 point lead nationally in the Politico/GWU Poll. But he is down 2 in the swing states. Gov. Romney has also seen a large rise in Favorability. Democrats have a 2 point lead on the generic congressional ballot, which is good considering they usually have R-leaning ballot results.

He's still the middle-class guy. But Mitt can get things done. Libya has also hurt O's NS approval.

Romney's narrowly leading on the economy though.

But, Right Track-Wrong Track is trending up. People are feeling better about the country, which could help in November.

This poll was done entirely before the VP debate, making it significantly less interesting.

Quick look and thoughts,

Definitely vote for:
Romney 44-Obama 43

22% feel less likely/strongly about not voting for Obama after debate.

Voted in past elections:
Democrat 48
Republican 42

14% labor union/household, seems high? Don't know

12% african american, prob back to 9-10% realistically

Male 46% - femal 54%........... too high

If you think blacks aren't going to be out in full force for Obama, you're sadly mistaken.

Yes, I agree with this. Obama not really suffering much with black enthusiasm. Think younger voter enthusiasm could be a potential issue for him, but black turnout may only be slightly less than 4 years ago.

so you think black unemployment won't factor in?

I guess gay marriage wont either?

You realize there are over 1500 black pastors asking their congregations to not vote right?

Might want to rethink that.  They will not be out as high as last time, I'd hedge to historic turnout #s.

Black people's responses to gay marriage polling had a comfortably double-digit swing in favor after Obama articulated his support, you know.

You seriously think blacks vote (or don't vote) based on things like gay marriage? Come on, get serious.

I guess by 'black pastors' he is referring to 'GOP election officials in swing states', and by 'asking', he means 'preventing'.

I think it's somewhat sad that some Republicans are so deliriously excited at the prospect of less people voting.

Oh yes, you certainly "get" the black community. They're all unemployed, gay-hatin, single issue, non voters.

Actually, it's more interesting - as Obama is still slightly ahead even after the debate problems.

Blacks have consistently been one of the most enthusiastic demographic groups in 2012 polling. Obama might have trouble with youngs and Hispanics, but there's no evidence of a drop-off in his black support.

It's funny, if you read the two Politico stories attached to this, both sides can clearly show how this poll proves their guy is winning.
