I wonder... the people who are voting for Romney because Obama is a Muslim/socialist/martian, and the people who are voting for Obama because Romney is a polygamist/fascist/robot, what's the total percentage of people who are voting based on lies that will make up the electorate on election day?

A better question: What percentage of voters are not talking to pollsters or lying to them because they don't want to be accused of being racist or bigoted, including in their own household (e.g., among their own kids/grandkids)?

Oh my.

____

Anyway, the answer is of course 'most of them', as it is in any large-scale election.

You are facking delusional. This is the second time I've read this bullshat from you in the past five minutes. Nobody is going to agree to a live-person interview from a polling firm - only to lie about the one answer they know they are going to be asked - if they are afraid of being called 'racist'. Not to mention that no pollster is calling their respondents 'racist' over the phone. In the remainder of cases, they are done via robo-survey.

This is taking you way too long. You've got four more stages to get through before November 6th.

All of the statements separated by slashes are truthful. Huh

According to the parameters cited in the OP, I'm not sure.  But, if you expand the parameters to people who are voting for Obama because he tells them our deficit woes can be erased on the basis of taxing only the rich and not the middle class at higher rates, and people who are voting for Romney because he tells them those same deficit woes can be addressed by merely cutting marginal rates for top earners and enacting massive non-defense cuts, then I'd say the percentage goes up to well over 90.

Probably lower than the percentage who doesn't want to admit to a pollster or their nearby racist relatives that they're voting for a black person.

Both campaigns spread the airwaves with lies, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. People most likely use these false statements to reinforce their political views and who they support instead of using them as the sole reason for supporting a candidate.

An overwhelming majority. Both sides are equally guilty, of course.

It's pretty clear why you, as a Republican, would say so. Just saying.

I'm not sure it's so clear 'as a Republican' -- surely a staunch partisan, like mondale, would simply blame the other party?

Would you be happier if I said Democrats were guiltier?

Really, guys, the astonishing speed with which this thread has descended into fail is truly...astonishing.

The 'moderate hero' interpretation would probably be something like that both parties have played a role in creating this environment (indeed, historically, most political movements have) but the Republicans are currently better at and/or more willing to exploit it.
