Haha, no. While at this point the race is definitely a tossup, Murphy is a very strong candidate and is still has a 50-50 shot at winning.

Thats actually how krazen defines most Democrats running for Senate.

With him, the Republican candidates are usually great, patriotic people while the Democrats are often Bay Area types, wacko lefties, politicians who don't serve the will of the people, or some combination thereof.

There's quite a clear dichotomy with his descriptions.

No, merely the ones who are quite clearly not performing in the polls. I would presume that a sophisticated pollwatcher like yourself would note the same.

Bob Casey for instance is clearly a man of the people.

Well, it does seem that you are more vocal about the Baldwins and Berkley's rather than the Casey's and Manchin's Wink

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Eh, Murphy strikes me as to an extent a man of the people. Distinctly white-collar background and he's obviously a well-off guy or he wouldn't be running for Senate, but he's not some sort of moneybags or ivory-tower so-called 'city father'.

Martin Heinrich is a man of the people, as is Claire McCaskill although she's beset with other things working against her. Dianne Feinstein (for example) isn't but she has other things working in her favor.

Bernie Sanders is a man of the people. Heidi Heitkamp is a woman of the people.

Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Baldwin are women of some people but not others. Shelly Berkley is not a woman of the people.

I confess to be more interested in competitive races.

In any case, Mr. Murphy is merely a liberal but not an overly offensive one. He does not have a difficult path to victory in this state. McMahon seems to be running a superior and better financed campaign.

I truly doubt McMahon will win. It just seems to unlikely.
