Ahh yes the tables are turning. This is good to see. Romney-Ryan charging ahead. In a day or two we will see a poll with Romney-Ryan ahead in Wisco.
LOL What poll are you looking at? Romney did t move up at all, it all constitutes a MOE Obama fall of 2 points. Romney is stuck at 45 percent, and 46 percent nationally. If all a Romney bump did was pull Obama down to a tie and Romney didn't move ahead, or even move at all, you should be very worried.

General statement. Slow and steady with this poll. When that Wisco poll comes out, they will be charging ahead and there will be some genuine liberal fear.

At the moment, polling shows an Obama win 312-226.
VPs, which are usually those who have won statewide, add on average about 2 points in their homestate to the nominee's vote totals, according to Nate Silver.
Ryan only represents 1/8th of the state of Wisconsin, and the 3rd smallest in the state.
Obama leads, on average, by 5 points in polling according to RCP. If Ryan legit adds 2 points, which is quite generous to Mr. Ryan's actuall effect on the vote, Obama still wins by 3 points.

Why exactly are you running around like a chicken with your head cut off about this?

Because I think Democrats don't understand the white working class.  I hate it, but this Ryan thing is the master-stroke.

You seriously need to relax. Lets remember that the ticket is ROMNEY Ryan, and the guy at the top cannot and will never be able to relate to the working class. People aren't going to switch sides because Ryan is now on the ticket.

Some other factors:

1. Rasmussen poll (meaning its a biased hack poll for the likes of WhyteRain)
2. Its within the two-week post-selection bump
3. Biden also appeals to the working class
4. Romney has not moved ahead, rather Obama's share of the vote dropped - all within the margin of error, meaning that there could be no change. I repeat, people are NOT going to switch to from supporting the president to supporting Romney just because of Paul Ryan

You know what white working class folks see in Ryan? A smart guy who they can see themselves having a beer with, or going hunting with. Hell, it's like having a politically apt Aaron Rodgers on the Romney roster. Stick Ryan's Medicare mom in a commercial, and we've killed the fears about seniors not supporting him.

And about Biden. I am not sure how many workin class folk will relate to the statment that 'they gunna put y'all back in chains'.

You know this how?

Also, I like how the working class folks have to be white to appreciate Ryan.

White working class folks vote differently than working class folks from other races. Who are in fact less likely to appreciate Ryan (and any Republican in general, in fact).

Also somehow I thought this post was from Politico before I saw the avatar, and I was wondering if he'd done some sort of political U-turn.

Biden is the embodiment of the "I'd have a beer with that guy" politician. Romney thinks he can out-appeal Biden with Ryan. Not gonna work.

I like how folks creaming themselves about a so far oddly subdued VP bounce, a known phenomenon in polling that by rights should be accounted for in analysis of polling results, are accusing others of being in denial.

Erm, no. At least not in the "it's the 99% against the 1%!" way.

They're calling you trolls because Republicans are acting as though this is a game changer, when this was a pretty expected poll. Where are you in the PPP poll? Oh wait, that poll is biased.

It's a post-VP pick poll. Idc if they get a small bump (which they didn't get, Obama lost 2 points).

No, but acting like a idiot could count as trolling. And your comment that people are in denial is idiotic and could be considered trolling.

Nothing of statistical significance has happened since the last Rasmussen poll. What are you people fighting about? Like I said, this thread is bizarre.

I would strongly suggest that most people here refrain from ever commenting on anything to do with working class people ever again, because some of the comments here are really quite actively ridiculous.

The No. 1 mistake people make on this site is over-estimating the effect of the VP.

OH is the whole enchilada (do they have good Mexican food in Ohio?)

Romney hasn't lead in a poll in OH since late May, Obama has lead in seven polls since then and this tie. Until Romney's peopel can turn this thing around, I really don't see a realistic way he wins.

One wrinkle is that OH has been monkeying with various rules to make sure that it is easier for the GOP base to vote so that might give them an edge if it is already close.

Come on, they keep voting for these Republicans.  Maybe our working class is different from yours, though I doubt by all that much.
