I don't have any scientific evidence to support this, but I get the impression that turnout here is going to be epically bad. There is zero enthusiasm for both candidates. In prior elections, by this point in the cycle, I would have seen countless signs, bumper stickers, etc. I've seen almost none this year. And of course, neither candidate is bothering to advertise around here because the states aren't competitive. It doesn't even feel like election season.

Yeah, Romney's going to sweep the South, except for VA and possibly NC and FL, but there's very little enthusiasm in the region for either candidate, but with depressed turnout and very low enthusiasm.

To be fair, no one cares about the election yet. Southern turnout will be depressed, but by October you'll see more enthusiasm.
